Ashtanga Short Form
A shortened and slower paced version of Ashtanga Vinyasa focusing on the primary standing postures and alignment.
Ashtanga Vinyasa
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a style of yoga as exercise created during the 20th century that offers 41 poses in succession to connect movement, breath, concentration, & inward focus toward stillness and relaxation. This is an active practice.
Beginner Yoga
A moderately paced class for students new to posture practice or those looking for a moderately paced class. Modifications are offered and props are welcomed.
Curvy Yoga
Based on the teachings of Anna Guest-Jelley, this class incorporates use of props for support and variations of movement for each practitioner to find a practice that best suits their body as it is now. This class is suitable for all students, even those new to yoga or with limited mobility.
Fat Girl Yoga
Have you wanted to try yoga but felt self-conscious about your body? Been concerned that you wouldn’t fit in? Do you love yoga but hate classes that don’t honor your body shape? Fat Girl yoga is for you! This class is a welcome center for all body shapes, sizes, and levels of fitness. We will move through powerful sequences that begin from the most supported variation of the poses using dynamic movement within poses and gently moving to less supported variations for each student to find the depth that suits their own body. We will discuss and support a body positive attitude honoring our curves and loving the body we have now. For the hippy, busty, curvaceous, rounded, Buddha bellied, beautiful people of Birmingham. Perfect for all levels of experience and fitness.
Gentle Yoga
A slower paced practice that uses beginning yoga postures to allow students to work on the principles of body alignment and breath awareness. Modifications and props are offered generously.
Heated 26
A moderately paced class practicing 26 postures in a heated room.
Pilates
Pilates is a strengthening and lengthening form of exercise that focuses on core muscle stabilization to strengthen and tone the body.
Restorative Yoga
This practice aims to calm the body and mind and encourages deep relaxation through slow movement with minimal strain or pain. Ideal for those recovering from injuries or with limited mobility and as a balance to a very active lifestyle.
Strengthen + Tone
Strengthen + Tone offers a core-focused full body practice. This is an intermediate class that features longer holds aimed at building strength and offers modifications.
Vinyasa Yoga
This active practice focuses on the movement between postures and the connection to breath to create a flowing yoga practice that heats and challenges the body
Vin-Yin
This class combines active poses of Vinyasa yoga to enliven the body and the slow and grounding poses of Yin yoga to slow and restore the body. This class is perfect for someone working into a more active practice or those active practitioners looking for a slower practice to increase their flexibility.
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a slower, meditative practice where poses are held for a longer period of time to target the connective tissues and increase flexibility.
